| The Barry
Reisman Show is a program of contemporary and nostalgic
klezmer, Yiddish, and Israeli music broadcast
every weekday from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. It has been
on the air in Philadelphia since 1965, making it one
of the longest running programs of any kind in the
Delaware Valley. Because the music spans several generations,
Barry's audience ranges from young adults on up. Some
of the featured artists are The Klezmer Conservatory
Band, Ofra Haza, Andy Statman, Sam Glaser, Mordechai
Ben David, and Schlock Rock. Every once
in a while, Barry goes "down to his basement"
to bring some of his old records like Aaron Lebedeff,
Mickey Katz, Menashe Skulnick,and
The Barry Sisters. |
The
program also features interviews,
phone calls, contests, and lots of fun! Trivia questions
and prizes are a regular part of the program. The morning
time slot is a perfect way for WNWR listeners to start their day. As Barry says, "Whether you're stuck in
traffic or stuck in the kitchen, we'll pull you through!" |
